Otec is led by its owner by Phil VanDenBerge with 15 + years in the two –way radio communications industry. In additionto to owning Otec, Phil is also an active firefighter for over 10 years – serving the village of Elk Rapids and Milton Township. Phil is a proud Michigan State University graduate in Bio-Systems Engineering. Go Spartans!

Otec’s 35+ Year Commitment to Northern Michigan

Otec Communication Systems was started by Phil’s dad, Peter VanDenBerge when Phil was just learning how to walk. Peter got his start in radios while living out West and learning from a friend and mentor. Shortly after moving back home to Michigan with his wife Margaret and starting their family, Peter formed Otec Communication Systems. Peter grew Otec Communication Systems for over 25 years to what its known for today- reliable, customer-centric and family operated. Phil has been helping his dad with radios from the tender age of 10 and has been proud these last 9 years to lead the charge of Otec’s solid and dependable reputation and continuing Peter’s long-standing legacy of excellence.
